An Automated Faxing Tool


Sometimes you need to send faxes without human intervention. CommandLineFax allows you to automate many faxing tasks. You can write shell scripts that will automatically fax a given text or PostScript file when some event occurs. For example, a sales department might automatically fax new rate sheets to all of their salesmen on the first of the month.

Your own custom application can be made to issue faxes in unattended mode. For instance, tickler/reminder/scheduling applications, network-monitoring applications, and emergency-notification applications might use CommandLineFax to send important messages when some event occurs.

Faxable documents can be either text or PostScript formats.
